Anyway to watch movies from my phone to tv

Is there any way to watch movies from my HTC m8 windows phone to my tv besides using an xbox

Do you have a newer (smart) tv? I'm not sure about the HTC phones having Miracast support or not, but Microsoft makes a Miracast dongle (adapter) might be something worth looking in to.

Do you only have just a phone and a tv? No computer? There's several streaming solutions such a PLEX, if you have a PC to set up the server on.

Basically, we need to know what your tv is capable of.

Well you're in luck! I'm not familiar with HTC phones like I said, (they might have a proprietary app just for this), but I'll recommend PLEX again, and set it up on your phone as a "mobile server" in the settings. Other than that, there's several ways (and apps) of doing this using DLNA.

Use Lumia beamer (and there is another one...i forgot the name) and it will send a code to the tv then your phone scans it and it will link up

Beamer is no good for videos, its not a constant refresh
