Hello all,

I am trying to figure out a few things. I am an ex Android user and know everything about it so I am trying to learn WP.

Is the developer preview the same build for all devices? So in other words if you have a tmobile device that has wifi calling, is that because WP has wifi calling built in or is it because t mobile added it and it is a build specifically for my device? On android everything is different based on the carrier.

Yes the Developer preview is the same for all WP phones.

In the case for carrier official updates, there is basically 2 kinds of updates: The OS (WP8.1) and the firmware update, that update is tailored for a specific WP phone, in Nokia-MS comes in name codes based in colors like Amber, Black and the new one which is Cyan. Those 2 updates comes together and some carriers puts some of their features and bloatware in the firmware, good thing you can uninstall the bloatware.

So to be clear the OS is the same but when carriers get their hold of lets say. The cyan update...they add their features to it such as wifi calling?

Is the visual voicemail feature in the phone app carrier based or is that stock on windows phone. Because it doesn't indicate charges of any kind

Yeah, the OS remains the same no matter the phone or carrier, any extra feature in the phone is made by the carriers and they put it in the firmware.

About the voicemail, is a WP feature itself, yet some carriers can choose to put more features in that function if they want.
