Are you glad you purchased the Yoga Book?

For all the Yoga Book owners out there, are you glad you made the purchase? Any issues/problems you want Lenovo to fix? What do you like best or detest most about the Yoga Book?

I have the Android version. I'm not sure I would have been willing to pay full retail ($500) to get one, but I got mine at a local Walmart at a reduced price of $300. I like the form, the size and screen proportions, the battery life and the ability to install the Crossover app that allows some Windows apps to run (in my case Quicken). I am getting used to the keyboard but do not use the stylus all that much. I have installed the newly Arrow launcher for tablets and like the features it offers. My main use of the camera is to scan documents with Office Lens, but the positioning of the camera on the keyboard so that it is on the opposite side of the screen when in tablet mode has been problematic.

Interesting. Good deal at $300 for sure.

That keyboard might be an issue for me. You say you're still getting used to it - you think you ever will?

I'll not use it when I have a lot to type (e.g., a full blog post), but will use it for short postings like this. Think about how we type on a tablet screen--it's not much different but does have haptic feedback.

Cool. For short stuff I agree, would probably work really well. Not sure how I'd do if I had a lot of writing to do on it!

I have the Windows version and I really enjoy it. I would love it more if it had a better processor but hopefully Lenovo's next iteration is superior and runs on ARM. Sometimes it is a struggle to type using the Halo keyboard, but when I'm in a groove it's still faster than using the onscreen keys. I find that the biggest hurdle to typing isn't tactile feedback. The biggest hurdle is the size of the keyboard. It's small and thus typing can be a cramped experience (depending on the size of your hands, of course). I'm great at the keys near the middle but problems arise when I have to venture off to the sides. That said, typing on the Halo keyboard is a vastly superior experience than just using a onscreen keyboard.

Other than that, it's been a fantastic device. I don't use it to write as much as I used to (and I can't draw to save my life), but not having physical keys is immensely beneficial when using it purely as a tablet. Unlike usual 2-in-1s, I can hold the YB without the annoyance of physical keys ruining the experience. While I won't be typing out my thesis using the YB, I do a ton of forum posts and emails using it. I even installed Lenovo's WriteIt app because it is simply better than the default handwriting software.

Given the price and processing power (or lack of it) I wouldn't recommend the YB as your only computer unless you were in dire need of a tablet with pen support. However, it's been a great little companion device to my various computers.

I have the Windows version. The only thing I could change about is that sometimes it won't turn on for a long time. Just happened recently and I have to say I'm angry. I haven't turned it on in 2 weeks because of the issue. Even worse, I bought it at Best Buy. I have been told to call Lenovo, but I'm not sure if I should. It works like new once turned on, though. I can't pick if I'm happy with it or not.

If my system is asleep too long, I hold the power button for about 2 seconds and it will turn on and pick up where I left off. It used to not turn on at all and then I'd have to hold the button for 10 seconds but I think an update from Lenovo partially solved the sleep issue. Perhaps you have a defective device.

I also have the Windows version and love it. Combined with Mischief, it's the portable drawing studio I've been dreaming of for years.

I have the Yoga book 720 13 inch and it's the best laptop I've ever had hands down. I absolutely love it. My past two laptops have been dells, and after problems with both I bought this and I coudlnt be happier. It's like going from a Kia to an Audi. The yoga book is very understated. I've gotten complements on it often with the short time I've owned it. The only thing I don't like is how the power button lights up while it's closed. It kind of lights up the room a bit, that's annoying. But that is such a small annoyance! This is my first laptop with a finger print reader too and wow... I'm never going back. I love the metal body too. I bought it for about $900. I have a feeling this laptop will last me any years. :) I hope everyone enjoys theirs as much as mine!

You might be in the wrong forum. Here's the Yoga Book we're talking about.

Absolutely love it. Unfortunately, I updated it to the Fast ring out of a fit of stupidity and now it is virtually defective. Cannot use in tablet mode and switching screens to portrait mode causes the touchscreen to **** its pants. It also has a missing search bar for the MSFT store. I tried resetting it and rolling it back but the recovery environment is in the wrong spot and I don't a bachelor in comp. science so I can't fix it.

Strange that it won't let you roll back to standard W10. Try this, use the upgrade assistant and see if that will let you roll back to the Fall update.

It is strange. I tried everything. The best I could do was enable the recovery drive and reset the PC. But that made it worse. I'm guessing it erased all the drivers completely because the pad function disappeared completely and the touch screen kept thinking it was in landscape when turned to portrait, which indicates it was just a normal windows install.

I'm going for this now:

Won't be touching any insider builds going forward with this baby.

Got the best deal ever for a Lenovo Book, brand new, a windows version with 128 GB and LTE for 199,99 from an electronic discounter, MEDIAMARKT. When I saw it posted in Ebay, I thought this was too good to be true, I odered and they delivered. So far I am glad I bought it at this time, for i have not had any of the issues I have read in the forum as most of them have solved with updates. I love it, and I am sure it is going to be my mobile partner.
