Asus after installing windows 10 - touchpad smart gestures not working, no longer admin, very slow

I have tried to repair the smart gestures in uninstall/change programs but it cannot locate the old file.
I cannot uninstall/reinstall because apparently I am no longer admin on my own laptop and do not have the authority to do so.
My computer is painfully slow now, not just on start up but to open any program every just a blank word doc.

So disappointed. any advice?

Interesting, did you come from Windows 7 or Windows 8? I can see where things would go wrong with Windows 7 but from Windows 8 you should've been using your Microsoft Account and that should, theoretically, protect your Administrative rights.
Would you consider rolling back and jumping onto Windows 10 again? There's always a few bad upgrades. I'm sorry it had to happen to you but...I mean, it had to happen to someone, right?
If you're not willing we can try and update your drivers for your touchpad just to see if we can fix something. Open up Run by tapping [Win] + [R] and typing devmgmt.msc and pressing <enter>. Search for your touchpad and search for drivers. I've not had any issues with my drivers so I've not had to do anything with them, but maybe it'll help.

I have an Asus ROG 751 gaming laptop, and I've been keeping an eye on the official Asus forums to see what problems other have been experiencing with Windows 10. Long story short, there's been way too many issues to upgrade from 8.1, lots of display issues and decreased frame rates. I don't mind holding out until things with Windows 10 get settled.

Would you recommend reverting back to 8.1? I followed the above advice and now my touchpad doesnt work at all. and my computer is painfully slow, it's not very old and was amazingly quick before the update. Definitely don't do it!!

Touchpad is completely non responsive now. that coupled with the horrible lag on everything now makes me want to revert back to 8.1 any advice on how?

Hi Sarah:

I have encountered the same problem as you with the Asus touch pad after upgrading to Windows 10 (from Win8.1). The solution is simple, you only need to download Asus Smart Gesture V4.0.5 or above and install it. And Asus touch pad will work again.

I posted this problem to Asus support team, and they reply with this solution. It seems that the previous touchpad software does not work with Windows 10. Only V4.0.5 & above will work. Somehow Asus support team auto-download & install V4.0.5 for me.
