Great looking device, thinner than the SP3 and keyboard INCLUDED. I prefer the SP3 though as it seems the Asus lacks RAM, Pen and USB input. However im loving their keyboard, about time Microsoft (or a 3rd party) made a METAL keyboard -give me a solid keyboard with an amazing trackpad!!!! Surely its not hard to make a vapour mag keyboard case with same internals, id be happy if it was thicker but solid.

It is an interesting looking device but so far no info on the CPU (other that it probably being Broadwell) or GPU installed in it. It also doesn't have a digitiser or in-built stand. So for me at least the Asus is not even worth a further look. The Pro 3 still ticks all the boxes.

I agree with the solid keyboard though, it would be nice if a 3rd party was able to create a better keyboard/cover thing.

It certainly looks nice but really its main selling point is that its thin meaning Broadwell. No pricing or release date given so its too early to really compare with the SP3 but it does give a tantalizing look at what a Broadwell SP4 would be like.

T300's selling point, if we go by the T100's strengths, is its price point ($950 base price if I'm not mistaken) and battery life (its dock has a battery, as far as I know).

I don't know whether a 13" tablet is good for tablet use, whether 3:2 or 16:9, but I'm honestly turned off by the SP3 aspect ratio (I don't care that it's QHD), so if I'd pick between the two, I'd certainly pick the T300.

The T300 is probably going to run the next gen. Atom processor. I would be surprised if it was on par with even the 4th gen i3 processor in terms of performance.

The T300 will be using the Core M as opposed to the Core i3/i5/i7 and has max RAM 4GB, so it's a non-starter for me as my laptop replacement.

Lack of ports dooms it for me along wiht the Core M processor. The SP3 will give you better performance.

The chi does have usb input (lower left corner) and it's running the Intel Core M processor.

It's microUSB, not real USB. Even if it has the ability to act as a host device (and not all microUSB devices do), you'll still need an adapter.

Good to see that some OEMs are rising to the challenge of Surface, rather than complaining about it (are you listening Mr Acer?).

Right now, I can't see enough information to make a comparison meaningful, so the Surface Pro 3 still wins as my next PC.

Edited, because auntie's watching. ;)

looks good, for me personally, the 13" screen will be a bit big for tablet side of things, and i am unsure whether the chi will have connected standby support, and it doesnt have the inbuilt lapability when using tablet only (kickstand) -- good to see there is healthy competition now in this market, fast, slim and lighter devices!

I still choose surface pro 3 for its look and feel :)
I can use the touch cover on surface rt 1 well so I don't think why I should prefer this Asus over Surface pro 3 because of that keyboard. Especially with larger screen and, of course the largest reason to me, the stylus pen :)

Oh, and as you guys mentioned, the full USB port support, I don't want to mess around with an adaptor.
Actually, the most latest machine from Asus that impressed me is that Zenbook NX500 with ultra-hyped screen

Had the surface pro 3 came with LTE this would be no competition. LTE really pushes the tablet side of the device. Until then the surface is still more laptop then it is tablet.

It also has optional LTE support..

Broadwell is much better than Haswell when it comes to this form factor. I think that the SP3 was meant for broadwell, but Intel got delayed and they had to use the old architecture...

Hopefully we can see an updated SP3 or SP4 within the next 6 months or so.

the 13" screen will be a bit big for tablet side of things

Not with Intel's smartframe tech..

I do think 12" is a perfect cross between a laptop and a tablet. And d Asus lack of a kickstand (or similar) will almost definitely make handling in tablet mode less comfortable. Lte is a definite plus but lack of pen/digitizer, full size USB, and microsd slots are deal breakers for me. Imo d sp3 still rules. For now at least.

One thing that ASUS does that Microsoft will never do is include the necessary parts when they know they are taking away a key feature. The MicroUSB port will be 3.0 (same speeds as standard) and guess what.. ASUS will include a mini adapter in the box with the T300 Chi.
