AT&T or Verizon?

My contract with AT&T is coming to an end, and because my mom promised my step dad we would all switch to Verizon because he likes it better, I too must switch. I really prefer AT&T over anything else but I've been hearing Verizon can be more reliable and whatnot, does anyone have any insight on comparing both of them? For example two identical devices (one on AT&T and one on Verizon) in the same place, which ones has better service? Any help would be great, thank you guys.

you can't go wrong with either one.
ATT will give you better prices on the phones and it is gsm, but I have been with verizon for 6 yrs after a year with cingular and won't change.
Verizon is tops and they are getting better with their attitude, etc.

verizon has the best network out there in my opinon, their phones aren't always the newest and greatest but i have never had a dropped call and a low signal or no signal is never an issue no matter where in the US i am
