Authenticator problems

Today I installed the Authenticator App on 3 windows phone 8.1 devices.
On 2 of them it worked like a charm. Opened the App, pressed the plus sign, directed the camera
to the QR code on the screen, and even before I new it, it had already recognized the QR code
and generated a code.

But on the 3rd phone, I installed the App, opened it, pressed the plus sign, but now
the camera app appears (so it does not directly start scanning), I actually have to take a picture of the QR code manually
and press 'Accept'. But the app never recognizes the QR code on the picture. (I scanned the code with Bing, and
it has no problems with it). So I decided to manully enter the account key and the secret, I ill it in in the App and it is accepted
and the App starts generating codes. But the Webpage where I have to confirm using a code always tells me the code is
incorrect. What is going on?

Found it, somehow on this phone, when installing Microsoft Authenticator, it shows up in the Apps as Verificator, not as Authenticator. So when looking for Authenticator, I apparently installed another App called Authenticator as well (from slugonamission). The interface looks exactly the same (as described above), but is not from Microsoft.
I deinstalled it, but now I wonder now, what happens with the information I entered there, as I said, I entered the username and secret there, could this be misused, maybe the app was actually sending this information somewhere?

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed authenticator is translated to the Dutch Verificator because you use Dutch on your phone.
Microsoft checks every app before it's allowed in the store so it is very very unlikely that your information will be miss-used.
Actual this app also can be used for verification.

No problem
Actual in the review of the app people complain that the barcode scanner does not work.
Bye the way could you update your wife's phone.

Yes did you not post yesterday that you had problems with the app updates of a phone?
