I have a newer Pioneer head unit in my car and a few Bluetooth headsets that would read my incoming text messages to me via my 920 and Bluetooth. I had a MS band original and as soon as that was connected to my phone the text messages would go to the band instead of through the bt device. Connection is still good, I use Bluetooth for calls and music w no issue. I upgraded to band 2 w my 920 and same problem. I thought it was a limitation of WP8. I just got a Lumia 950xl and same issue, text messages go to the band instead of being read to me. I've validated the settings in both os's that texts should be read to me over Bluetooth and wired headphones, but no dice. It's obviously a prioritization of the Bluetooth connection problem. Firstly, has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone figured out how to get the texts read back through Bluetooth?
