Batch rename multiple files

[Windows Central Question]

Hi all,
I need to create a batch file to rename many files in the same folder. I tried the syntax described in

and it did not work. I keep getting the "system cannot find the file specified." error.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Can you type out the syntax that you used here and perhaps someone here can point you in the right direction?
