Battery dropped from 100% to 30% after GDR3 update???

Don't update your phone without it being plugged in. Having it die in the middle of an update can brick the phone.

Updating your phone(s) requires your screen to remain on. If the screen never shuts off the battery is being used and it won't charge as well as it would with the screen off. EXAMPLE: Talk on your phone for hours and have it connected to the charger.....Does it charge?

Mine dropped from around 60% to 27% during it too, seems quite a lot. I rebooted to check if it was just mis-reporting it and it dropped to 20%, am not sure I like where this is heading.....

As long as battery life is good.. Gddr3 rocks(yet to install thou)

I'm waiting 1 or 2 days to see reports on battery life before I update to GDR3. My battery life is just too good to compromise on (I normally get 24~32 hours between charges at medium usage).

The update seems to screw with the battery percentage. I performed a soft reset after the update following by powering it off, and then back on. Gained back 30% of battery. Weird, but I've had this issue before with updates.

Normally, what happens is, there are something like OS Drivers who keeps Processor in low power state. So, battery is saved.

When phone is in update state, there are no drivers invoked so processor runs on full power (same as when u turn on PC/Laptop, you hear fan sound but it stops after windows starts).
Due to this condition, battery is consumed a lot.

I am particularly interested to know how is battery life affected after GDR3.
Anyone on this? (I know it has not been long since update has come, and people playing with GRD3 will have higher drop in %)

My battery life has improved from gdr1 to gdr2 & even better since gdr3! I am impressed. I use my phone very near constantly from wake up to bedtime. It has improved DRASTICALLY!

My observations confirms this. I wouldn't say that it has improved significantly yet....but it has improved from GDR2. I will update in a week....

^_^^_ did you check your battery stat after 10mins? I find battery info inaccurate and always gives proper reading only after 10-15min in idle.android presents real time battery count unlike windows.
