Although my signature says I am a Samsung Omnia 7 owner/user these days I mostly use a Nokia Lumia 820. I have experienced over the last week that the battery is drained more quickly than previously. For example this morning my phone should have been fully charged after more than 12 hours of being charged but it showed only 72 %. About half an hour later, without having used the phone for anything, another check revealed 26 %. It has been charged during the day and once again, after having downloaded and installed the new app updates from Nokia including Here Drive + Beta, is back to being charged. It has been suggested to me that background apps and positioning services like GPS, drain the battery and should be turned off when not in use. But I have turned positioning off. Could an app that requires positioning be individually turned off? And if it is not the positioning what else could be tested or turned off for a better battery life span?
