Best Bluetooth Car set up

I love my windows Phone. I have a serious question. I am looking to upgrade my Car Stereo. Are there any stereo systems that work out of the box with Windows Phone 8 particularly the HTC 8X?
In my limited research I have not found a specific one. If this is the case, what are the best Bluetooth options? I would also like a system that has some apps (like Pandora) as well. But I don't really want to play DVDs in my car...

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

As far as I know, BT is pretty standard; as a disclaimer, I bought a car with a BT head unit stock, so I have not shopped aftermarket parts, but there is nothing specific for WP8.

I would keep in mind the BT version of the head unit (something that supports a higher version might be worth buying; even if WP8 can't utilize some of the better features today, it's maturing at a relatively rapid pace). Also, you will want to know whether or not it is capable of calling as well as media.

The way that BT works on the WP8 (and some other phones I've tried), is it can pair for calling or media -- they are two separate connections that bring separate features, so you might want to, while you're shopping, see if your unit supports bluetooth calling and not just bluetooth media playback, if that is a feature you would like to have.

As is the problem with jumping on board new technologies (but I don't mind :) ) Yes, the HTC 8X does have those two settings that you talked about. I know them well, because I use wireless headphones.

Can you explain higher versions of the head unit? Would an adapter be necessary? I current have some type of BT connection in my car stereo, but I think it may only feature call back. My WP8 didn't even see the thing. I was thinking of getting a Jabra 2 adapter. Would that work with the Windows Phone?

I don't know a ton about BT or head units outside of my own (limited) experience, so I'm hoping this post bumps your thread and someone a little more savvy can assist.

You shouldn't need an adapter if your new head unit supports the bluetooth media connection, but as to the specific BT version requirements to work with WP8, I'd have to either do some research or ask someone more educated on the topic than myself.

No, I don't want to use my headphones in my car. I want music blasting out of my radio. Thanx for trying tho.
