Blocking Windows Central Users?

Any hope of Windows Central getting a Block User option? If there is an option and I've just completely missed it, please ignore the rest of what I say and direct me to the error of my way.

One of my favorite things to do is read through comments on posts. I tend to find more information by knowledgeable users by reading their comments than the initial post just because they don't have to censor anything they say.

The issue with not censoring is the constant Daily\Hourly\Minute by Minute stream of immature crying, whining, attention deprived same group of people every day is a bit overwhelming to some users. The extreme profanity, abuse towards other members and plain silliness of some users has gotten completely out of hand.

Once you have to sift through all of this to find that one simple comment of reason you are already angry yourself. I'm all for freedom of speech but honestly and though I or anyone else chooses to stay at Windows Central, we should not be forced into having to view some of the content that is thrown at everyone each day.

I'm really hoping an option to just simply block offending users is an option soon. I really enjoy Windows Central and many others do too but I'm afraid that if things aren't toned down a bit it will dry the valuable members away.

I could deal with just reporting a user but I'm afraid that isn't working as the same people day in and day out are still here and doing what they like.

BTW: I will say that your forum mods do an awesome job at keeping things a bit more civil in the forums.

At the top of any page... where your avatar and username appear on the left...

Click on the gear symbol and select "general settings" from the drop down list. Scroll down the page and look at the column on the left hand side for "Edit ignore list" and click on that. Add any user names you like in the box and click okay. Any users added to this list will cause their posts to be collapsed when you view them... You'll see they posted, but not what the post says unless you click on a reveal link. You can then block any offensive or obnoxious posters from your view that way. I believe it also prohibits them from sending you a PM as well. At least that is the default for v-bulletin forums.

So I know there's an Ignore list for the Forums, but it doesn't apply to the Comments sections in articles. Can that be put forward as a suggestion for when the devs are bored and fancy some tinkering?

Yes, the ignore setting on the web pages does affect the WP app and blocks PMs. It tries to block forum messages but there is a bug, so you get a message saying the post is hidden but that message is followed by the full unhidden text of the post which is not collapsed at all.

I'd like to see this fixed, but it would be even better if the ignored posts could be filtered out completely.

Any chance this bug will be addressed? There's not been a WP app update for ages.
