Thank you to all the helpful members of WP central. I bought this phone after posting lots of questions here. Thank you to all those to who replied & helped me choose this wonderful device.

Need your help again now as below:

1. Suggest must have apps & games
2. Should I install windows 8.1 dev edition now or wait for official release?

Gratz! I have the same exact phone, a white 1520.
For your questions:

Adobe Reader - pdfs n stuff
Air Hockey Speed - good air hockey fun with a friend
Asphalt 8 - if you want arcade driving with amazing graphics, this where you go
Audio Stop Free - music controls show up in the volume controls even when you paused the music, if you want them to go away, use this
Bingo - if you like bingo
CamScanner - take pix of documents and OCR them to get the text
Daily Explosm - if you are a fan of the Cyanide and Happiness series, get this
Dungeon Hunter 4 - high quality top-down RPG, very good fun with MOGA controller

2. If your'e willing to live with some annoying bugs and slower games (not optimized properly) then go ahead, otherwise I suggest you wait for Lumia Cyan and 8.1's official release.

If you do decide to go for 8.1 what I did was reset my phone before the get 8.1 and reset it again. Don't restore from a back up and set everything up as you would from new.

Turn WiFi sense off.

Turn location on but turn it off on all the apps that you don't need it on.

Prepare for battery drain for the first couple of days and then after that you will see it improve greatly, I'm getting better battery now than before.

Congrats... If you are going to load a lot of stuff, I suggest going to 8.1 and have a class 10 SD card. Move all apps to sd.... The phone ROCKS!!!!!

I know you're talking about apps, but do you have an overheating or battery drain issue?

The only battery drain I suffered from was "Newuseritius" but that does start to heal after a few days. Then something new changes and it comes back. LoL Any phone can get warm, never had one get hot to touch. Mine gets warm on charge, of if I really start playing some heavy games. But it is a powerful phone and no fans, so heat dispersal will make the phone get warm. What varient of the 1520 did you get? 937 (international) 938 (Worldwide) or 940 (AT&T)?
