Its been a busy weekend for me. Its Easter lots of church to participate in and on top of that.
I have a new addition to my family.
A few months ago I was working in San Antonio. We were working outside unloading a truck of large 'I' beams when this dog coms walking over from the vacant apartments adjacent to the jobsite. This is what the dog looked like that day.
She was pregnant and starving to death. I couldn't stand to see this little puppy that way. I called my wife we spent the better part of the day trying to decide what to do. Taking the dog all the way to Dallas and the high cost of the veterinary bills were just too much for us to handle at the time so we decided to take her to the humane society there in San Antonio. When I dropped her off they said she we going to give birth in the next few days. I told them I would like to adopt her. She had to stay there until she had the pups and they were weaned. She was placed in foster care to have the pups. I called them every week to check on her progress. She had 5 puppies one was born missing an eye. This whole process took 2 months they called me on Tuesday to let me know she was back at the shelter and ready for adoption. She had to be spaded and chipped anyways and the people at the shelter (great people by the way helped us a lot) worked it out with us so that we could drive to San Antonio (5 hours each way) yesterday to pick her up. We made it home late last night.
This dog looks like it fell in a bucket of ugly but who couldn't lover that face... She is a calm sweet dog. She is leash trained. I am thinking who ever owned her lived in the apartments and had to walked her on a leash outside to go to the restroom. I am just glad to have her home.
