Can I activate 4G/LTE on Lumia 920 (Indian variant)

Hi folks..relocated to New York from India. I have a Lumia 920 purchased in India. Upon my arrival I activated a T-mobile connection with unltd data. The max speed I get here is 3G and its terribly slow. Have spoken with T-mobile and they have confirmed excellent 4G/LTE coverage in my area. They can't fix it and I know its the Indian firmware on my handset causing the restriction..

Can this be fixed..or do I have to change my phone???

Looks like you'll have to change it if you want LTE as your phone doesn't have the AWS bands Tmo uses. You could try selling it then buying an unlocked Rogers version on eBay which has the correct bands, should be a fair price now.

What if I gget firmware flashed at Nokia Care...would it help me??

Different radio hardware so even that wouldn't work.
