Can I get some help with some account issues?

Account Issues

Hi,

When I set up the Lumia I used @outlook.com account which was fine.

However I don't want it to setup email and calendars and can't find a way to remove it. I've added my works account to both the email accounts and the accounts that Microsoft uses (I only have free apps on there at the moment) but it won't let me remove the old accounts.

Any way around this? I really don't want to rebuild the phone as I seem to have notifications working now and that was a major pain.

Looks like this should be possible, but I'm not sure how. In this article it says as one of the improvements "Possibility to delete the primary Microsoft account without resetting the device".

Can't find a way personally - I'll bounce the phone in the hope but it looks like the primary account is undeleteable which is a bit sucky!

Agreed. I looked around some in the settings, but if they did implement that option, they sure hid it well. Hope someone else can chime in with the solution - if it exists!

You don't want ANY email or calendar?

OR

You don't want to see the Outlook.com email and calendar?

2 different issues. Can you clarify?

I'm not sure why you didn't use your primary email for your Microsoft Account... Did you know you can start a Microsoft Account with any email service? Gmail, Yahoo, private server, what have you...

I have two accounts.

@outlook.com which is my personal one and the one I set the device up as
@work.com which is my works email account

I download all the apps / one drive / etc. to the @outlook.com. However I only want works email and calendar on there.

I don't want any @outlook.com on there for Skype, Email or Calendar. For downloading apps and onedrive it's fine to use the @outlook.com account but I don't want it's calendar or email or anything else - if I have to switch to the other account that's fine.

So under Settings > email + accounts > tap the outlook.com > under "contact to sync" uncheck the boxes for all categories...
