It seems as though certain forums have turned into a breeding ground for negativity. So much so that any positive threads are either buried or quickly derailed. Now, I'm all for constructive criticism but some posters are treating WPCentral like they're personal place to rant and spew hatred. Some are trolls, others are clever trolls (I'm looking at you, ohgood) and some are legit WP owners that need to learn a thing or two about forum etiquette.

So would anyone be upset if I took a harder stance on thread derailing/crapping, trolling, FUD, mindless ranting, and posters that get more glee out of causing trouble than actually being constructive?

I just gave ohgood an infraction the other day for derailing a positive thread. He posts garbage regularly on XDA, he won't last long here if he keeps that up.

I thought we were already doing that?

I don't want to go so far as to call it zero tolerance but generally being more alert to repeat threads/arguments, trolling, closing threads that have run their course and increasing the infraction count for trouble makers.

I thought he had three bad 822s, so they gave him an 8X.

Don't worry, I read those threads, lol. Two bad 822's and the first 8X they sent was bad too. Another one should be here tomorrow, hoping for good results.

I hope the 4th time (and 2nd different device) is the charm!

Me too! I think my experience with WP7/8 is a testament to how pleasing the operating system is to use because from my trophy to now every WP I've owned has been buggy, but I keep using it in spite of the issues I've had. With my track record I should have jumped ship already, but I really enjoy using WP.

I'm thinking it's related to CDMA and LTE in the case of the Nokia devices. Nokia has always made GSM devices, but the 822 is their first CDMA device.

I don't know what the issues would be with HTC. I do know some of the earlier HTC Android CDMA devices had issues, though, especially the Thunderbolt. Isn't the Trophy from the same time period as the Thunderbolt? I'm not sure exactly, since I've never used VZW. I've been with AT&T since it was Cingular.

Well to continue the hijacking of this thread: I don't know why HTC would have problems on Verizon because they've had quite a few solid phones on Verizon, excluding the Thunderbolt. I don't keep up with the 820 forum, but the 920, 8X and 822 forums have plenty of threads with problematic phones. I don't think every WP8 device has problems, but there are plenty that do and it's not just Verizon. As far as Nokia and LTE on Verizon I don't see why there would be a problem. The 822 runs the same hardware as the GS3 and most of the top android phones on Verizon. Definitely a head scratcher.

Sorry guys I have been busy with other things the last couple of days. I'll get back in the game. I usually trump a bunch of these BS threads before you guts see them. Be objective but don't allow thread crapping or trolling. Its real simple just review the persons recent posts if you see a pattern of trolling give the infraction. For the more clever trolls like ohgood just refer them to me I will take care if it as soon as I can.
