I put MP3 ringtones in the ringtones folder on the phone and they're showing under "Unknown Artist" in the Music Hub. Can I remove them from the Music Hub?

Thanks :)

Put them in the ringtone folder. There they don't show up in your music.
Remove the ringtones you now have on your phone, then copy from your PC to the ringtone folder on the phone. Ringtones have to come from the PC, not the phone.

I have the same problem. Tho in my case, 2 out of 5 custom ringtones are somehow not showing under songs, still 3 other does o_O If i remove em from songs, they are removed from phone as well, and all are in ringtones folder, not music!
Also gotta notice that regardless all the improvements, music on WP (and im on the dev preview) is still crappy done! Instead to be sorted as its pasted, by folders and albums, its messed up by song names.. Seriously, my 10 yo Creative Zen Nano Plus MP3 player cant compare with this lame ****...

In addition to adding the file to the ringtones folder, make sure that the file has been tagged with the "genre" equal to "ringtone".
