Video recording Quality of lumia 540

I want to know whether lumia 540 can record 720p video or not and is it better than lumia 640?

Re: Video recording Quality of lumia 540

Since the 540 has a Snapdragon 200 processor at its heart (the worst performer between it, the 400 in midrange devices (and the S4 in older higher-end devices), the 800 in high end devices) so I don't think so.
Also considering other 200 devices do not have 720p enabled.

I believe you're looking at 480p video (although I could be wrong) and this device is NOT better than the 640. The 540 is hitting a lower price point.

540 in real life: Quad Core SD200 CPU with Adreno 302. Microsoft does NOT enable 720p video recording on SD200 devices for whatever reason. Checking on Qualcomm's spec sheet however, you can find that the SD200 could drive both a 720p display AND shoot in 720p. Alas, this is maybe a differentiation for devices on Microsoft's part. Though seeing how the 640 can film in 1080p, I think they could've have let that slide. Even the Lumia 520 can film in 720p.

I don't know, I've seen in another place that attempting 720p capture on the 200 makes for a low/jerky framerate.
The 640 and 520 are much more powerful devices actually.

On the CPU front, the quad core SD200 and 400 are identical. Also both faster than dual core Kraits clocked at 1.5 GHz. It's the GPU in the SD200 that's slower than that in the SD400 and dual core S4 in the 1st Gen WP8 phones.
