Can you use the HTC M8 Windows Phone for Verizon on the ATT Network?

I am looking to buy a new phone, and I saw an HTC M8 for Verizon for sale on craigslist. It is the windows phone version, and my mum loves windows phones. However, we are currently on an AT&T contract with micro SIM cards. Can anyone verify that the HTC m8 for verizon works with an AT&T sim card?

I believe an unlocked one will work on AT&T, but not on their LTE bands. You will sacrifice some of their speed and data advantages.

There are AT&T versions of the HTC M8 for Windows. They are not very hard to find inexpensive new and used. They are not as common as the ones for Big Red, but I would sure suggest going that route instead of trying to force a Verizon branded one onto AT&T.
