Can't connect my phone to my PC

I've got a Lumia 820 running WP 8.1 Update with Black.

After the update I can't seem to connect my phone to my computer anymore. When I do, the PC keeps making those sounds of a device being
connected and disconnected. The phone at first would charge. Now it doesn't.

I performed a hard reset, and the problem still exists.

I've tried using different cables and I tried connecting my phone to my laptop and the exact same things are happening.

Both my laptop and PC are running Windows 8.1 with Update 1.

Update: I'm now getting an error when I connect my phone to my PC, it says:

USB Device not recognized.
The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
Recommendation: Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly.

Try to reinstall nokia recovery software and it will install the latest drivers. Worked for me
