Can't key in the unlock code

My HTC HD Mobile 6.1 today gave a surprise.
When the unlock screen came in, I could not write the code.
Seems that the touch screen is not reacting properly.
I can sinc the HD with outlook.
So, how do I bypass the unlock screen, or how do I reset the phone without having the touch screen?

have you tried maybe recalibrating the touch screen in setup It may work and it may not.
