cant update whatsapp

[Windows Central Question]

Can't open the app. Says version expired and asks me to go to Windows Store to update WhatsApp. However when I go to Store it displays that WhatsApp is already installed and doesn't give me any other option. I see no other option. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp as I don't want my conversations deleted as i never backed up my conversations. Please help.

Actually whatsapp automatically back up all your chats daily at 4.00am!!You can check your database files in your file explorer.

what OS version are you on? Users on windows 7.8 and below can no longer use it

okay, have you tried to restart your phone? It can sometimes fix the store issue
Can you also open store, go to settings and check for updates?
