Can't we all just relax a bit?

So many posts with so many horrible, ranty, angry replies.
Seriously, not that long ago, Windows Central (or Windows Phone Central) was a pleasant place with people that cared about the website and Windows Phone and even laughed at Daniel's jokes.

Now, it's a horrible, toxic cesspit that's full of self entitled, over expectant, attention deficient children that spend more time insulting each other and asking what are usually dumb questions.

Let's try and stop being toxic and jerks, let's get back to the old style of comments. Let's have some rules.
1. No more 'When in XX?' If the post doesn't say, the author doesn't know.

2. If someone asks a question you know the answer to, answer it nicely. Give a link to a forum post or an article. Don't wrote an essay on how stupid they are and how dare they ask such a stupid question.

3. If you don't find the article helpful to you, don't comment just walk on. It's an internet article, not your mum being beaten to death.

4. We were all new once. See 2.

5. No one here has the answers to why Windows Phone isn't used by everyone. If you do, a post about Excel, ranting about how WP would be the most popular mobile OS if only they listened to you and you only. Start a forum conversation, let others critique your ideas.

6. Cheer up, its a phone, its not life threatening.

What?! Now I know you're making stuff up.

Seriously, though. I do agree with you. But do understand that this is not an anomalous occurrence for a growing internet community. As internet communities grow, the number of outlandish individuals does too. More people just itching for attention. More outlandish opinions and rants. It's a normal trend.

Hopefully the regular members of the community will be able to weather the storm and sustain the consistent community mentality that has been around Windows Central since the early days. Do your part, and others will observe and learn!

its today's humans. we are so used to the simplicity of typing and throwing our rants and stuffs through our computers that no one will think of anything before they speaks. We start being wanting to overpower and have the spotlight, because of the ease and there is almost nothing to lose. In fact this is in everyone, but how do we puts it is what counts.

I completely agree with you. I've only been a member of this community for a year but even I've watched it grow more and more negative.

Moved to OT because "Ask a question" isn't meant for lengthy discussions.

Never forget the many regular members here who day in day out offer help and never expect anything for it.
We must allow people to have their say with disciplines in place in order to keep WC relevant.
A number of fans get very angry with frustration and feel they have nowhere to turn other than this forum.
Others turn to the positives in the face of disappointment which at times may be overlooked.

Of course everyone tires of the low-line rhetoric that can be very disparaging.
WC also sees the best of the best that participate who realize that negativity is born from emerging popularity.

The staff here does the best it can to keep WC a great experience.
I've always thought the members here are still the best of any tech forum I've been involved with.

When we quit wanting more there will be no more...

This should be mandatory viewing for all forum members. Just exchange "Steam" for "WindowsCentral"
