Car Bluetooth connection problems

I recently purchased the HTC M8 and I'm having problems connecting to the Bluetooth in my car since the phone doesn't even detect it. I drive a 2011 Toyota corolla. Did any of you have this same issue and how did you fix it?

No issues connecting my M8 via bluetooth with a 2013 Kia Soul.

No problems here either. I would make sure your car is actually in pairing mode when you have the phone settings open in Bluetooth since its not showing up.
