Just got the tough case for the focus s. This is definitely not a great case. Was kind of a struggle to get the phone into the case and it seems that the fit is to tight. The two stage camera button is completely useless now. Just touching the button will shoot a picture, no matter how lightly I press the button I can't get the camera to focus, it just shoots a picture. Also pressing the power button to turn the screen off doesn't always work. It will sometimes turn back on.

I guess I'll be on the lookout for a new case.

Yeah, those are the exact two issues I am having with the case. I think it turns back on sometimes, because the camera key is slightly depressed. Also, I have noticed that the device may not turn off if the camera key is slightly depressed (first stage). If you press the case out near where the camera button is, it will loosen up enough for the camera key to be fully out, however, if you press it fully again, it may stay pressing the first stage of the key. I am hoping that it loosens up a little bit over time.

I generally didn't use the two stage key for focusing, I just tap the screen, so that really has not been an issue. I wish they paid better attention to the camera button. Worse case scenario, you could cut out the camera button and it would probably work fine.

With all that said, I still really like the case since it protects the phone really well, and it feels good.

After I posted the last reply, I got an idea, and it seems to work quite well. The idea is to wedge, just a little bit of space between the silicon case and the phone itself around the camera button.

To accomplish this, all I did was to cut a thin strip from the top of a piece of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Then I cut that in half, then i folded both pieces so that they were about half an inch long. I then placed them on either side of the camera button, carefully put the silicon case back on, then put the hard case over top (camera and power button side first), making sure that the wedges (pieces of paper) stayed in place. The result, a perfectly functioning camera button, with both button stages working. And you cannot tell that the paper wedges are there.

I have been using this case without the hard outer shell for a few weeks now because of the camera and power button conflict. I had been debating just cutting out the silicone that covers the camera button, but am glad that I read your post before I did. It took a little bit of careful paper placement, but that worked like a charm. Thank you so very much. As soon as my Invisible Shield comes in, I will finally have a fully protected phone.
