Certain applications rebooting router

Title basically says it all. I updated my phone to the latest version, and now certain applications are causing my router to reboot. For example, kik and viber. Every time I enter one of those, the whole wifi router reboots, and the wifi disappears from every device for a while. I've tried avoiding applications that make this happen, but its becoming like almost every app i download off the market.
Any one help?

Time for a new router.

Same problem with new HTC One. Turned off N in the router wireless settings. Just using B and G. No more reboots.
