Charging/Battery issues with Samsung Focus.

This phone was given to me by my sister and it took a dump after a week and I'm stuck at the Samsung screen. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get an outline of a battery and that has a charging chord in the middle (all white). I had bought a new battery and put it in and it still doesn't work. I have also tried to do a hard reset multiple times, took the battery out and SIM card, tried to plug it into my computer via USB cable and still no luck. Anybody know of a way to fix this issue? Thanks.

Well, if it is the original Focus then that is an issue that one of my Daughters friends had with hers, and it was just plain dead. It wasn't exact, but the not getting past the Samsung screen sounds about right. She still was paying for insurance, and she got a Focus Flash as a replacement.

If it is the Focus S, I have yet to hear of that problem hitting our devices, but it sure sounds like it is pretty damaged. Seeing how you got it from your Sister, I am guessing you do not have the luxery of insurance. I am sorry, but if a battery replacement and a SIM card replacement didn't fix it and a hard start doesn't make it respond, the patient may be flatlined.

Maybe one of the more tech-saavy posters can help, but I would lean to getting another phone.

Having a similar issues with my Samsung Focus S I got in July on insurance replacement. It got super hot and told me suddenly the battery was critically low. Then it turned off and went into a series of reboots. Tried plugging into wall, into computer, hard boots, taking battery out and cooling off and all it did was give the critical battery icon or reboot (for 8 hours of attempting). It did turn on for 2 mins twice in the beginning and then die again each time. I thought perhaps it's the battery, but this makes me think it's more than that. Super bummer. Will check with the ATT store, but am not excited to go through a second replacement. I guess yay for insurance....
