Anyone able to get cisco VPN client working on the surface pro? I was told by our IT department that it would not work.

Yep, I got my Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to attach. Had to go in and manually configure the connection (this will be specific to your IT group so my settings wont help you) though as neither the .aspx nor the Java autoconfigure setups would work in IE10. I'm still waiting for a Cisco AnyConnect VPN app for my Surface RT though...c'mon Cisco!!!

Unfortunately the Dell SonicWall VPN client caused my wireless connection to fail. The same client works with Windows 7 wireless. The VPN companies are not on the ball with full Windows 8 support yet.

Thanks for the replies. I am off the to the IT department today and see if we can get this worked out.

Thanks.

Your IT department is wrong.
It works... it's that simple.

Sounds like you have an "IT department" that is run as a "fiefdom" where they are "too busy to worry about your needs".
You might need to have a few "HR events" regarding your staffing before you can get their attention.

I'll chance a guess here that your "IT department" is one "all powerful" person in your organization?

In any case, "Shadow IT" must be running WILD across your company due to this.
