Close Apps to Start Screen in Desktop Mode

Do you all remember back in Windows 8.1 (and I think maybe early versions of 10) the option to go straight to the Start Screen when logging in or closing all apps, as opposed to going to the desktop? I can't seem to find that option anymore. I prefer the way certain things like window management work in Desktop Mode vs. Tablet Mode in the current version of 10, but I don't really use the desktop itself anymore so I'd rather see the Start Screen once I've closed all open apps. It looks like the option was removed from the OS, but does anyone know of a registry hack or third party app that can make this happen?

Hi, this might not be what you're looking for, but it's the best option I could find.

Settings > Personalization > start > set toggle 'use full start screen' to on. Give it a shot?

Thanks for the response. I do have that enabled already, but what I'm looking for is the option to go straight to the start screen upon login or when all apps are closed. The setting used to be accessible from the taskbar settings in Windows 8.1:

It seems like they removed the option in 10, but I'm hoping there's a way to bring it back.

Yea I figured that's what you needed. I checked my system and that's the best option I had. I didn't reboot, but I thought the option would remain after restarting after setting it to full screen. Did you try?

I did try, and no such luck. I guess the best I can do is submit it to the feedback hub. :(
