I have to say. Windows Phone is really coming together nicely, cant wait till the official release. Then we will see the real impact of the improvements MS have made, especially with apps.
I say this after the big Whatsapp and Facebook Beta update. I am dead sure Twitter will see a big update when official 8.1 comes.
Sure there are still problems, but no OS is perfect.
Lock screen app is coming too , quite exciting ..

What do you all think? I am quite positive, makes a good alternative to iOS and Android. Literally a good mix of the two. Apps still need a bit of work, but with MS making the OS free... I do believe that will come. Probably the best decision they have made recently, will make a tangible difference to the market share and therefore to apps and general app quality.

It's d?j? vu. This is proclaimed every time an update is imminent.

Remember GDR3?
And before that GDR2?
And before that GDR1?
And before that WP8?

And yet WP moseys along...

I disagree.. 8.1 was a much bigger update, GDR 1 to 3 barely added anything notable like a notification centre or Cortana.
Making the OS free will make sure a large amount of manufacturers make WP powered devices. That's huge

I would say GDR1 and 2 were minor improvements to WP. But GDR3 and WP8.1 were big updates, GDR3 in terms of h/w and 8.1 in terms of s/w.

GDR2 fixed a lot of bugs of GDR1. But, rumors say that in July GDR1 came out! We still have WP 8.5 this year, 'cause 2015/Q2Q3 we have WP 9.
