Compass available?

I have Lumia 720 with denim update, but recently some problem in phone, mainly in lock key as I can't lock the phone, as if I want to then shut down screen appears, so it switch off & then restart again automatically.
So I thought software glitch, I factory reset my phone, but still problem is there, so I go to Nokia care for repair, they charged ₹1300 for changing UI( hardware, on which all keys-volume,power&camera works).
Now my problem is solved but after that, I factory reset my phone again for smooth functioning.
But after hard reset or after denim or after change of above UI, my compass is not working.
So my question is its hardware problem or its software glitch or denim update remove my compass compatibility.
So any Lumia 720 with official denim update has Compass or not?

Use the Windows Phone recovery tool by Microsoft. It will reinstall the latest Windows version. After that check I'd compass is working.
