Constantly Vibrated for more than 1.5 hours till soft reset

Hi ,
I am Nokia lumia 928 user from past 20 days. I was happy with the performance of it. Today all of a sudden it started vibrating. It started at 5:50 PM and continued till 7:30PM, until I contacted the verizon support to reset the phone as I didn't knew, how to do it.
Does any of you have faced this issue?

I think this is the first I've ever heard of this issue. I'm guessing the reset solved the issue?

Yes it solved the issue. Is it because of defective piece? I am not sure if it will appear again..
