I have had many issues with my surface I am on my 2nd unit. Most problem have been fixed.
One problem remains. The single and double tap stops working on the right 1/3rd to 1/2 of the pad.
Doing a 3 finger tap brings it back. I can always move the pointer using the whole pad.

I am wondering it this is unique to me or if its a bug.
I am already on my 2nd machine and would hate to swap it again.
The fact that my old one did it and that it can be made to reset using the 3 finger tap leads me to believe its firmware not hardware.

Anyone else having this issue?

Did you go into mouse and touchpad seeings on settings app? Try fiddling with each features.

So I do not have these issues a different set of problems. My trackpad when scrolling randomly reverses direction.

I also have touchpad issues on my Surface Book, but they are mainly from using a left click with the edge of my thumb on the trackpad (typically this is on the edge of the trackpad). I've disabled taps as clicks (as I found this annoying and unpredictable), but even so the touchpad will occasionally fail to register a click even thought the touchpad makes an audible noise when I click.

If I click with my right-index finger then I almost never have this problem, but that may be because I tend to click in the middle of the touchpad vs the edge.
