Corrupted music files. Any way out other than a backup and hard reset?

Seems my 928 is hosed. I deleted all .mp3 files and anything under the Artists and Albums folders but the Windows Phone desktop app still shows music and and under Music on the phone shows about 30 play buttons under Artists that have no desciption and don't play. Any way out of this other than a hard reset?

Can you replace the mp3s and see what happens??

I can't see the .mp3 files it thinks are on the phone. With the Windows Phone app, it gives me errors trying to add music. I also have pics in Camera Roll that the phone doesn't find any more.

Have you tried using Media Player to sync and manage things??

I've tried them all while trying to figure out why it wasn't allowing Smart DJ only a few out of hundreds of artists. I've since hard reset and now dealing with recovery.

Okay -- it's been my experience that restoring a Windows phone is less of a hassle than an Android. . .
