ok. one more doubt. if one changes his phones region to US to access cortana, in what way it will effect the phone's functionality where region set in your phone matters?

You get temperature in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius. I guess.
And with 8.1 official update Cortana will be available for Uk I guess so change location to UK and you get metric system on your phone.
Even I am not sure about the extent of changes it causes still on wp8

The unit for measurements are not the main pain....... The problem which I hate is .,sone apps are indigenous to India so you won't be able to install those apps until you don't set you region back to India....😞

You can manage that in settings...... To match phone language or custom

I won't reccomend you that.....i m using Cortana and believe me....i like every bit of it......

True, it works fine in India as of now. give it a try, you can always turn it off and change your region back to India if you don't like it.
