Cortana/Mic Input on the desktop? (W10TP)

Has anybody ever been able to get Cortana/mic input working on Windows 10? I can never get it to pick up my headset/my voice without an integrated mic that the desktop obviously lacks.

I have a Plantronics gamecom headset and It works fine for me,.. after I enabled hey Cortana again. seems like it is defaulting to off at each build update.
