Im sure this has been asked and answered but I couldnt find it anywhere. Does anyone know when we might see Cortana out of beta.

She'll most likely come out of beta once Windows Phone 8.1 comes to all WP8 devices.

I've seen massive improvements lately in how she's been handling me, lol.

I'm guessing months rather than weeks. In fact, if Microsoft take Cortana to the level they've been discussing (essentially replacing bing across desktops, laptops and tablets with Cortana) that could keep her in beta a long time.

Here's a mad idea....if the concept is that Cortana takes on a true AI form, then theoretically she'll be in a constant state of learning and developing......beta forever :-)

Microsoft have some big ideas for Cortana, they want to integrate her far more than Google Now or Siri. In order to do that they're going to need to develop, experiment, test and tweak Cortana for a long time.

And lets not even get into multiple language platforms........I'm not sure how good Jen Taylor's French, Spanish, Cantonese, Hindi, Russian & Japanese is :-)))

I just read that iOS8 will allow Siri to wake the phone from sleep mode when you say "Hey Siri." I've watched a demo video of this working. However, the caviot is that she will only do this when she is "PLUGGED IN". How STUPID is that! Motorola can create a phone that will allow Google Now to wake the phone from sleep by saying "Hi Google" and it doesn't have to be plugged in. I hope Microsoft follows in the footsteps of Google, not Apple on this one. Allow Cortana to wake the phone without being plugged in by saying "Hello Cortana!"

Google can do that because the phone with that feature has an extra low energy CPU. Have you seen this feature on a s5 or HTC?? No, because they don't have this CPU. That's why Apple is doing it this way. Without plugging in, the battery would be 0 before you can say cortana.

After about a year from her debut, I've read. In fact, it's the reason why the Xbox One and PC will not see this app until 2015.
