Hey,
I have just installed GDR1 update and switched from EN US to EN UK. I checked, Cortana works. But, apart from her sad, sleepy voice, she doesn't tell me a jokes anymore. ;)
I guess UK version is still a bit ******** comparing to US one. I live in Spain and before I could only complain that she gives me the weather reports in Fahrenheit, not in Celsius (well, as long as I didn't ask her to give me a temperature in Celsius). Now I have it in Celsius, but other features are missing.

Anyone switched to UK English and have some experiences with British Cortana? ;)

It'll come in time, they just need to activate more stuff at the backend - when it first came out you couldn't add interests - you can now.

I'm sticking with the US one. I love the voice and I know that version will always get updates first n all that. You're better off sticking with it too.

Cortana UK wasn't telling jokes or singing songs earlier today, but she is now, it looks like they have switched on the none search responses.

I have a question about the UK Cortana. I live in South Africa and changed my region to UK (don't like the US one). Anyway, it is fairly successful (haven't tested all the jokes and what not) , but for some reason my phone literally picks the device up as if I am in the UK. Whenever I try to make a call it blocks it and says that I am not allowed to make international calls. Is there a setting that I need to change for my phone to be able to stay on the UK Cortana and still be able to make calls or is the reason for this the fact that Cortana UK is still in Beta form?

Interesting, just curious did you ask cotana to make a call or you just made a call from the contact?

I had mine set to US for Cortana . (until yesterday) something similar happened when I tried to call an 0800 number here in the UK. (as its not free on mobile you need to redial without the first 0) I had International Assist on, so it thought I was dialing a US number. That might not be your issue but worth checking quickly to see if your international assist is on, if so try it off.

It's all cool, but I realy can't setup my lumia 920 to use UK Cortana. I stuck with US and this Fahrenheit's. I tried everything, but nothing work. When I set up region and speech to UK , and "display language" to US English I see a message "Disabled due to your combination of region and language settings not being supported". If I setup region and speech to UK, and "display language" to my native Russian I see a message "Cortana can only work if your speech languages matches your display language". I want setup my display language to UK English, but I have no option for this, only US or Russian. Do anybody have the same issue?
