Could this be a hint for an update to come?

Today, I tried to launch Kik Messenger on my phone. I have a Nokia Lumia 630 running 8.10.12382.878 (Lumia Cyan).
I got a warning saying that it would not open, saying that there may be an update to Kik Messenger in the Windows Phone Store.

Could this be a hint for an update finally coming?

I got a message saying they separated new from old messages too, to make it easier to see new messages/contacts. That didn't happen though, must require an update.

No update yet through the Store, but one could well be in certification!

It's also possible that something in the Cyan firmware update or even WP8.1 breaks Kik completely. It hasn't even been updated to support features in WP8.0 and even then that last update was over 2 years ago. Their Facebook page mentions various updates for "Android and iPhone" - nothing whatsoever for WP (there probably is but I'm not scrolling back 2 years worth of posts).

Kik Messenger hesitant. No immediate plans for a Windows Phone 8 version. | Windows Phone Central

Hmmm, maybe you're right! But you never know! Guess I'll check again in a few hours!

Nah, Kik works with 8.1

I can't say it works 100% but I got messages and sent some since I've had 8.1.
