My Lumia 1320(India) just received a critical update. Why? And why doesn't my Lumia show LTE when it has a 4G data connection plan? Just shows H/H+

For the update check the details.
It is probably an update to prevent random reboots which happen in some devices so MS made this update for all phones.

In India 4G is on 2300 MHz (band40) but the 1320 does not support this band so you can not get the 4G so please contact your provider for clarification.

My provider is giving 4G and I got my sim card upgraded too for the service. The L1320 is a 4G phone right ?

There are 3 version of the 1320 for details see below.

Nokia Lumia 1320 RM-994 – global version
Nokia Lumia 1320 RM-9955 – LTE version
Nokia Lumia 1320 RM-996 – non LTE-enabled version.

General Information

2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network
RM-994 – HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100
RM-995 – HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
RM-996 – HSDPA 900 / 2100
4G Network
RM-994 – LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600
RM-995 – LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

So the RM996 has no 4G at all and both the 994 and 995 have 4G but the 4G only works if the 4G from your provider matches one of the bands of your phone.

Airtel is using TDD - 2300 MHz. You phone is not compatible.

TDD is one standard, FDD is another and is more widely used around the world. Future deployments in India are planned to move to the FDD system.

Yes ,three different frequency bands are used for 4G LTE in the UK. There?s the 800MHz band, the 1800MHz and the 2600MHz band.
And your phone (RM994) has them all.
