Delays to power button response. After Nokia system app update?

From yesterday there have been delays of many seconds in response to pressing the power button on my Lumia 920. This appears to be a software problem, not hardware problem. Pressing the button to switch the phone on or unlock it is fine. But pushing the button to lock will dim the screen but doesn't actually lock it - if you push the button again to use it immediately opens up without the lock screen and then may often go to the lock screen a few seconds later. If you push and hold to switch off then nothing happens for many seconds - the phone will eventually show the slide down to switch off but it takes a while.

I've been trying to think what has happened since yesterday that may have caused this. There was an update to one of the system Nokia apps yesteday. I think it was network+. Could this be responsible?

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Why must some people use the phone of their choosing looking for any potential flaw whether real or not. I don't get it.

Sigh. This was a genuine fault. I am fully aware of the normal behavior - I've had this phone for a month and had WP7 phone for 2 years before. The "many seconds" I referred to was as many as 30 - obviously not normal. Clearly I should have waited longer before opening the thread but I was concerned it was caused by a Nokia update that others may want to avoid.

What I was hoping for was constructive feedback on whether others were having the problem. All I've actually got is sarcastic comments.

Actually, I have just experienced this on the 620 and the phone is less then 24 hours out the box. Not sure what it was doing but the more I pressed the power button then waited for the screen to appear the quicker it responded. Leave it and the power button seems to take longer to wake up the phone.

I had the same problem in L 520.U have to off the automatic brightness and problem will get fixed. I know, it is not the proper solution. But u can avoid it until u get your phone hard reset.
