deleted e-mail comes back

I've found that if I delete e-mails by using the icon from the home screen tab without opening the e-mails, that within an hour they all come back.

In order for e-mails to STAY deleted, I have to go in the in box, highlight each one and delete it. Is there a setting on the phone I need to change, or is this normal?

The only time I've seen the Delete option from the Mail tab work properly is when I use it on my Exchange-hosted email account. With both IMAP and POP3 accounts I've tried, I got the same results as you... the emails return on the next synchronisation.
