Desk Dock Connection

My X3 only initiates continuum about 25% of the time when i put my phone in the dock. I have tried all combinations of sleep, awake, monitor connected before, monitor connected after, etc.. i can't seem to find a pattern. However, every time i connect it to my MS dock that came with my 950XL it never misses a beat. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Does the dock work as poorly with the 950xl? Maybe bad dock?

I have had this issue one time only. Then I had to reboot the phone to get it to work. Do not know why, but since then I have had no issues with the desk dock.
Perhaps build or firmware issue? What build/firmware are you on?

Are you using the correct docking "lid" for your phone /case combination? The underside has a picture for the correct type.

Thanks for the ideas, this what i have found.
I am using the the rugged case with the correct dock insert.
The dock won't recognize my 950xl at all. It will charge it, but there is no continuum "handshake" whatsoever.
Firmware for the X3 is 0002.0000.0026.0118
OS build .953
