Dictate isn't recognising any commands except comma and fullstop

I just started using Dictate with Office 365 but it doesn't recognize when I pause for a comma, end of a sentence or when I say 'delete that' or 'delete word' it just types the words I say as though they're not commands - any idea how to fix this?
