Looking at the ASUS precog "concept". Did they just pre-empt Microsoft and Andromeda?

I mean size aside it looks a lot like what we've been seeing in the patents.

As for the dual-screen laptop idea, no clue if Microsoft is doing it but it's not all that unique of a concept. Lenovo had some keyboard-less laptop that eschewed the keyboard in favor of some glass touch thingamajig. Looks like a fun little project by Asus and not much else, but that's just my take.

Patents often don't translate to a product, companies like to patent everything "just in case" so keep that in mind.

Asus seems to be getting a fast start out the gate...the Precog AND the screen pad (which looks cool as heck) I like both, but I agree with @tgp, I too would like to replace my 950XL with another 'true' WindowsOS pocket size mobile device. I do see the Screen Pad idea utilizing the phone as one of the options to have in the screen pad for calls and such (unfortunately for us few WP users, it's probably going to introduce the Android and Apple phones as an app long before it does for a Windows Phone).^(

Yeah I want to replace my 950xl too, and the patents show a "pocket sized" device.

BUT

MS is steadfast in saying this isn't a phone. Most likely a device that "can make calls"
They also insist this is a new category of device.
So why not a laptop size, a "mini tablet" size and a "phone" size

If you can build it phone size the bigger sizes are no problem, and certainly it's looking like the OEM's are coming along for the ride. They need a new category to lift sagging PC sales.

Well, that device is a laptop, while Andromeda must be a "phone" device. Is not the same proupose… but yes, is a similar concept.

I'm waitting too for Andromeda to replace my Lumia. :amaze:
