Sorry but... do you really know what you have installed? It looks like not.

Please, read all the information about Windows 10 Technical Preview before install it, then, wait until consumer preview, with all the touch/metro/fullscreen apps/cortana/etc beautiful things.

Windows 10 (aka Windows 7) sucks. This is a good OS for 1995, not for 2015.

If it's good for '95, then Windows 7 must have been outdated when it came out.

no need to get into a flamewar. This is feedback, metro apps are best run in full screen mode. Putting them in a window is very jarring and feels like a step back to me. That's feedback. MS put Windows 10 out there so people can give their feedback.

I have a 25 inch monitor on my desk. I can't think of a bigger waste than running one app full screen. I've been avoiding Modern apps like the plague because of this. Now I find myself using them more. And as for my Surface Pro 3, the same applies. "Just because I use a tablet does not mean I want everything full screen all the time." - my new tagline, I've been saying it since the first time I touched a tablet.

Regardless, I hope they let the user decide which way it should be and toggle it at will. Then we'll both be happy. As others have pointed out, it's not finished yet. I doubt any of us know what the UI will be by RTM.

I didn't mind Modern Apps running full screen but, I do agree with you on this. I have a 17.5 inch laptop and I have a 47 inch tv I use as a secondary monitor than I am hooked to most of the time and I will admit that having the apps in a window has been a bit more productive on them both.

What I would like to see hopefully is the ability to load settings better. After getting used to the Charms Bar, having to go to the window and click the menu on the top left has honestly felt backwards to me.

To the OP: The option to use the Start Screen as well as using Modern Apps full screen is still there. Whether they make sense or not doesn't matter. It's called refining the look. You yourself chose to use a Preview of an OS meant for Desktop users in the IT industry. This preview wasn't meant for average joe whatsoever.

The reason I like it and think it will be widely accepted...it simply is an extension of the Taskbar.

I have several primary apps on my taskbar... Explorer, Snipping tool, Chrome , IE thats it besides the default apps.

On my START I have all the other stuff.. Diversions, News, Folders for work, Command Prompt, Powershell etc

I don't always need those but when I do they are there...keeps the task bar nice and clean.

Makes me more productive shaving seconds off each time i go to things like work folders...

I like using apps in a window so I can have several of them open on the desktop, in combination with desktop programs. That is what was missing in 8.1. I still use the start screen with the live tiles when I don't use the PC, to see mails and news, and to start programs (desktop and apps).
The only thing I am missing now is starting a program with a recently used file, that can only be done from the start button. It would be nice to show the recent file list of a program when right-clicking on or hoovering over the live tile in the start screen.

Yes, but this technical preview, and it is not about Metro, or apps, or touch devices, not at all. You are complaining ("feedback") about something that will be released on the Consumer Preview, not in Technical Preview.

As noted in the article, there are a few issues with the current option to run these apps full screen, but the user experience will likely improve as the official release gets closer.

Agreed. Also don't forget when that continuum mode comes out it will most likely make all apps run in full screen like they do now (well, I'd give feedback for touch devices to have their apps run in full screen in continuum anyways)
