Display brightness

Anyone know of an app with live tile I can install on 1020 so that I can adjust brightness from home screen without having to delve in Settings? Could find nothing in Store.

Nope, you can't interact with live tiles. Sorry.
However 8.1 has a brightness quick setting you may like.
