Do Builds need to be installed in order?

I have a Lumia 650 and am currently stuck on Build 14915.1000. Inability to install 14926.1000 was a known issue with the 650 that Microsoft was supposedly looking at remedying. So I've been waiting eagerly for the next build, hoping the problem would be fixed. But now even with Build 14393.221 out, every time I try to update, the screen shows that 14926.1000 is ready to download, but after it does, it still fails to install.

Is there any way around this? To bypass 14926 and download and install 1493.221?

Build 14926 is Redstone 2, Fast Ring Insiders only.

Build 14393 is Redstone 1 (Anniversary Update), which is for everyone else.

If you're on a Restone 2 build but want the latest from Redstone 1, you'll have to roll back and switch to Release Ring.

Ah, thanks. I've been so eager for the next Fast Ring Build after 14926 failed to install on my 650. that I overlooked the distinction. Should have known any way, not coming on a Tuesday.

with fast ring builds you could have major stability issues i would suggest you to stick with release preview ring until fast ring achieves a stable build. :)

Well, I've stuck with the Fast Ring this long, might as well continue. Having it as my daily driver gives me the incentive to report errors. Besides even with all the "problems" it's mostly always still been acceptable with only small errors and inconveniences. Today the date tile showed Tuesday 27th instead of Wed 28th but a restart fixed it. So even though I'm stuck halfway between Build 14915 and 14926, the phone still functions well enough in all respects. I still have a 930 to swap SIMS with if there is every a real problem.

14936 is out and this update bug has been fixed

Yes, thanks Chintan. It installed overnight and I was happy to see it there this morning.
